These terms govern your use of JRNIcity, operated by Kanak India Sales Service, DSK Vishwa, Pune - 411041, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them.
JRNIcity compares the ways you can travel between two points in a city and shows what each costs. We are not a transport provider. We do not own vehicles, we do not employ drivers, and we are not a party to the journey you take. When you choose an option we hand you to that operator's own app or website to book, and from that point the operator's terms govern your ride.
We charge commuters nothing. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase. We do not ask for card, UPI or bank details, and there is no payment gateway anywhere in this service.
We may be paid by ride operators when we send a commuter to them — either a one-off amount for a new customer, or a share of a completed ride. Where such an arrangement exists it applies to app-based operators only. We are never paid for a bus, a Metro journey, a metered street auto or a carpool.
We think you should be able to check this rather than take our word for it, so the ranking rules are described in our privacy policy and the option we recommend always shows the fare and time it was chosen on.
This distinction matters and we mark it on every result:
An estimate is a guide to which option is likely cheapest. It is not a promise of what you will be charged. The amount finally charged is set by the operator, not by us, and we accept no liability for the difference between an estimate and an operator's fare.
Auto meters in Pune are being recalibrated to the new tariff until 28 February. Until a particular vehicle is recalibrated its driver may charge the older rate from a printed chart. A fare lower than ours during this period is not an error on either side.
We show only services we believe are lawfully operating in your city. Bike taxis, for example, are not currently licensed in Maharashtra and are therefore not offered there. We maintain this information carefully but cannot guarantee it is current at every moment.
We ask for a mobile number so trip updates can reach you. If you go on to book with an operator, that operator identifies you by the number registered with them, not by the one you gave us. Where those differ we will tell you, so an OTP or a driver's call does not go to the wrong phone.
By registering you consent to receive trip-related messages and service updates on WhatsApp or SMS at the number you provide. Reply STOP, or write to us, to end them. We do not sell your number.
Do not scrape, resell or systematically extract our content, and do not submit knowingly false fare reports — those corrupt the estimates every other commuter sees. We may suspend accounts that do.
JRNIcity is provided on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for anything that happens during a journey, for an operator's conduct, or for a fare differing from an estimate. Because we charge you nothing, our liability to you is limited to the fullest extent permitted by Indian law. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Indian law applies, and the courts at Pune, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
